interesting collaboration from anamoly, itunes and bonos people however it did leave me thinking they've missed a huge opportunity. The shop only has 9 shirts which are inevitably from the biggest, most stadium filling bands / artists - shouldn't they be exploiting the potential of the long tail allowing shoppers to get the lyric from that finnish skiffle band they love onto a t-shirt.
that to me is true 'identity', not plastering across your chest the same line as everyone else.

hi napoleon...
glad you find the venture interesting. it's great to read your comments and feedback about the project.
i wanted to give you a bit more context to the initial, nine launch lyrics. basically, we started with nine to get people into the idea.
the REAL idea is to get people to submit and vote for their favorite lyrics...which should definitely tap into the potential of the long tail.
once they submit their favorite lyric--no matter what artist--we'll verify it, then post it up on to the list.
then the fun stuff starts. we tally the votes that pile up on the lyrics. those with the top votes will be added to the next pool of lyrics for clearance.
so basically, it's long-tail meets crowd-sourcing. if you want a lyric to succeed, you can help it along by championing it.
and you can submit any "i" lyric you want.
so.. down the line, we should have TONS of lyrics to choose from as people keep submitting and voting.
that's the way we get to let people express their identity.
-a.
